Student Ministers
The Mass is the source and summit of the faith life of UB - St. Joe’s.
Our Sunday 7 PM Student Mass offers the opportunity for our students to gather in prayer and give thanks for all that God has done for us.
We offer the following ways for students to become involved at Mass:
Lectors
Lectors are those who proclaim the Word of God to the faith community at Mass. Proclaiming the Word is different from any other reading. Eye contact and presence is of the essence -- God speaks to people through the Reader.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy in serving at Mass by helping to distribute Communion to the faithful. If you are interested in serving as a reader or Eucharistic Minister, please talk to a Campus Minister after Mass.
Sacred & Liturgical Music
We encourage any student with a musical gift to use that gift in the celebration of Mass. Students with an interest in cantoring or playing an instrument at our Sunday 7 PM Student Mass should contact our Music Director, Maria Chomicka, or talk to her after Mass.
